Threats to the forest are increasing, with a 5 star hotel being developed in the area; there will be increased tourism and traffic to the area. The forest is also the only source of charcoal for over 10 000 people and deforestation is ongoing.

You will be helping us to establish and maintain a tree nursery of tree species endemic to the area. Working with the local people, these trees will be used to replace those that are removed for charcoal production to curb the deforestation of the area.

This project is part of our Lemur Research & Biodiversity Monitoring Program.
